At Godley Primary School, we are committed to providing a high-quality Early Years education that establishes strong foundations for future learning and success. Our Early Years provision includes teacher-led provision for two-year-olds and  three-year-olds, and Reception for children aged four and five. Through a nurturing, inclusive and ambitious curriculum, we ensure that every child receives the very best start to their educational journey. We foster curiosity, confidence and independence, enabling children to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes they need to thrive both in school and beyond.

The Nook - Our teacher-led 2-year-old provision is designed to create a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can explore, play, and learn. Our experienced and caring staff focus on developing each child's social, emotional, and cognitive skills through a variety of engaging activities. We understand the importance of early childhood development, and our curriculum is tailored to meet the unique needs of 2-year-olds, fostering their curiosity and love for learning.

Nursery - For our 3-year-old provision, we continue to build on the foundation established in the earlier years. Our curriculum is designed to promote holistic development, with a strong emphasis on language, communication, and early literacy skills. Our staff use a blend of structured and play-based learning approaches to ensure that children are actively engaged and motivated. We also prioritise the development of social skills, encouraging children to build positive relationships with their peers and teachers.

Reception – In Reception, children build on the strong foundations established in Nursery through a carefully sequenced and ambitious curriculum that prepares them for the next stage of their education. Through a balance of adult-directed teaching and high-quality continuous provision, children develop the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to achieve the Early Learning Goals and make a successful transition into Year 1. We place a strong emphasis on communication and language, early reading, writing and mathematics, while continuing to support children's personal, social and emotional development. Children are encouraged to become confident, resilient and increasingly independent learners who can make choices, solve problems and take responsibility for their learning. By the end of Reception, our children have developed a firm foundation for future learning and are equipped with the confidence, independence and learning behaviours needed to thrive in Key Stage 1.**

All areas of EYFS provision at Godley are supported by a rich array of resources and facilities that enhance the learning experience. We believe in creating a safe and inclusive environment where every child feels valued and supported. Our commitment to quality early years provision is reflected in our continuous efforts to improve and innovate our teaching practices, ensuring that we provide the best possible start for our young learners.

At Godley, we are passionate about early childhood education and are dedicated to helping each child make good progress.
