Eco-Schools is a global programme engaging millions of children across 64 different countries, making it the largest environmental schools programme in the world. In 2019 Godley Primary Academy successfully achieved our Eco School Green Flag again. The programme provides a framework for learning and action around nine topics – biodiversity, energy, litter, global citizenship, healthy living, school grounds, transport, waste and water.
Every fortnight the Eco Leaders elected from each year group meet to discuss how we can maintain and improve our Eco awareness. The Eco Leaders for this school year are:
Year 1 – Camilla and Luca
Year 2 – Isabella and Ava
Year 3 - Grace and Asa
Year 4 – Jamie and Sophie
Year 5LH - Rory and Gracie
Year 6VS - Lacey and Rylan
Year 6LC/NP – Dylan and Finlay
The children have taken part in various initiatives such as: Waste Week, Switch off Fortnight, Walk Once A Week Scheme and have created their own Litter Rotas to ensure our school grounds stay looking fantastic!
